The eucalyptus plant is not only the food of choice of the Koala, but part of my favorite scent combinations for my foot scrub soap.
It's summer time, which means sandals. And as much as I enjoy getting a pedicure, it doesn't always fit into my budget. So I decided to create a foot scrub soap that I could incorporate into my every day shower routine! A combination of eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils help bring a gentle tingle to your feet as the ground pumice stone buffs away the dead skin and the soap cleanses. Some have also been known to use it as a full body exfoliating soap. This has been a runaway best seller this season. I just can't seem to make them fast enough!
Have I convinced you that this is a part of your daily shower routine that you just can't live without???? Well if I have until August 4th they will be 10% off! If you follow my blog, make that 15%!!!!! Just add you r email address in the box on your left! Seriously, is that not a great deal? I am willing to custom scent it, so don't worry if you are not a fan of peppermint!!!
Here is a pic of the very citrus mandarin & jasmine foot scrub I made for a customer!
I almost forgot, the 75th fan of my Facebook page wins a basket worth 25$!!!!!! If you refer the 75th fan, guess what, you win one too!!!
Thanks for reading!
Till next time!

Shower Butter : A Profile

Image: africa / FreeDigitalPhotos.net
What is this shower butter you ask? Well its a combination of shea, cocoa and mango butter mixed with a few extra ingredients to create this extra moisturizing in shower lotion.
I hate applying lotion, it's just something I've always hated, ask my mother! So after hearing about these, I just knew I had to make them and try them out for myself! I can remember my first experience like it was yesterday!!! After popping one of these out of the mold, I ran to my shower and made it as hot as possible. Washed as usual, then took the shower butter, moistened it under the water, and rubbed it on my skin. From that moment on I was in love. A quick rinse off, and I was done. Once I was dried off, I was amazed by just how soft my skin was. There was absolutely no need to apply lotion afterwards.
So how does it work? It's a combination of ingredients: stearic acid, cetyl alcohol as well as emulsifying wax that create this unique chemical reaction turning it into a lotion like substance. I have provided a link to a wonderful blog that I enjoy reading myself. You can find more on these ingredients here:

It's no surprise to anyone who knows that my goals are to grow my business to be a success. Now just how am I to get this done.....well I'm still figuring this out! Success is not easily achieved, but as long as you have the drive, it is attainable!!!! And I do plan on achieving success. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon!!! As mentioned before, I have started to take part in different markets which will hopefully bring new customers to me. But I am also depending on you all to suggest not only my blog, but my facebook page!
I depend on my fans to help me!!! Word of mouth is the best advertising!!! Plus, I really do have some great products!!!!
FEATURED NEXT WEEK:
Over the next few weeks I will feature a product from my line. I think it's import and that we truly understand what we use and their ingredients. How beneficial they may or may not be. And who knows, I may be overly generous and give a discount on any orders made with the product!!!
Thanks for reading, till next time!

Separating business from life....Easier said than done!
(originally posted on Tuesday, June 28, 2011)
In order to have a successful business, deaths, births, injuries, sickness better known as life must remain separate and not affect the operation. With two young children, this is better said than done!
In the last two weeks I have weathered two colds, strep throat, one ear infection and an asthmatic cough. Anyone who has had children, or is around young children will know just how this can play on your sanity. Let alone make it nearly impossible to run a business out of your home. But I have managed to be able to complete my orders on time and have them delivered. It has meant long sleepless nights, but I want to be known as reliable. And although my children will ALWAYS come before business, I try to fulfill all obligations in a timely manner!
With the postal strike coming to an end, this will open up the possibility to ship my orders to you! I am almost always willing to hand deliver your orders (within reason), but I only do so once a week. If you are like me and extremely impatient, having your order in the mail by the next business day is your best option! Plus, any order over $40 gets free shipping! What's not to love??????
How can you opt for this option you ask???? Well this weekend I am finally getting my professional pictured taken for ALL of my products so I can finally launch my artfire online store!!!!! By this time next week, you can order directly online!!!!! I know you are just as excited about this as I am :p

Getting Started
Wednesday, June 21, 2011
You might be wondering 'what is this?', well this is my newsletter that I have decided to put out. It's one thing to have a company and have AMAZING products (i'm a little partial!), but i believe that it's important to connect with your customers! Being relatable is a key ingredient to success, and how else are all of you going to get to know me? So sit back, sip on that cafe au lait (or cup of green tea) and enjoy! Not only will you get the latest going ons here at Les Produits Genevieve, but you will join me on my sometimes hectic, crazy but always enjoyable ride of building this company from the ground up! Oh, and don't forget to look out for special offers only available to subscribers!
Since I've opened the doors to Les Produits Genevieve, I have been blessed with a clientele base almost from the start. It's always great to have repeat customers, but it is also necessary to spread my wings, and get out there. This past Saturday I took part in my very first artisan fair. With a good friend by my side I got all my products ready, and spent hours coming up with the perfect display. Finally I was done and Saturday was here! All in all it was a great experience. Although sales were slow for the whole market (I say that to make myself feel better lol!), I still sold, and to strangers!!! I mean, I have sold items going to people I don't know, but they were all purchased by friends or acquaintances. This was my first time really putting my products out there, and setting myself up for some real criticism! I have a charity event next month called: Beyond The Streets/Mission De La Rue Fundraiser for Dans La Rue. I'm really excited for this one! But more on that later!
Thanks for reading, till next time!
